Update November 2019: Lizzie & Luna and Hannah & Savannah are listed on the ‘My Family Found Me’ page on Reece’s Rainbow!
Kelsi & Kameron are still waiting.
In this series, each Friday, I want to share a different child or group of children with you who are available for adoption and listed through the adoption advocacy website Reece’s Rainbow. All the kids who are listed on RR from Sarah’s Covenant Homes, India, the focus of my previous posts, have been posted about, so now I am focusing on a few kids or a sibling group listed on the site each Friday going forward. When more SCH kids are listed, I’ll continue to feature them!
Please note that the names used on RR are usually not the childrens’ real names, and their real names will only be shared with seriously interested families in order to protect their identity.
Today’s first featured ‘Find Me Friday’ sibling set is: Kelsi & Kameron! Kelsi was born in 2005 and Kameron was born in 2010. They live in a Latin American country and are waiting for their family to find them. They are eligible to be adopted by single moms! They were listed in August 2019.
PD: Kelsi & Kameron are embracing, w/ huge, squinty smiles on each of their faces! Kelsi wears a blue windbreaker & Kameron a red sweater w/ white collared shirt underneath. Both have medium-light complexions and dark hair.
Kelsi & Kameron’s Medical Histories
Kameron presents some difficulties in speech and reading comprehension, which cause him to struggle in school.
Kelsi & Kameron’s Education
Neither child received consistent schooling prior to entering into care, so an adoptive family should be prepared to provide any necessary educational support and resources.
Kelsi is a good student who works hard in school. Kameron is receiving extra help in the areas of speech and reading comprehension, and is showing improvements – in fact, since learning he and his sister are candidates for adoption, Kameron has shown a greater interest and dedication to his school studies.
Other Information About Kelsi & Kameron
Kelsi is older than her brother Kameron by 5 years. She loves sports, especially soccer, and enjoys typical teenager activities such as hanging out with friends and listening to music. Kelsi is described as respectful to authorities, calm, and kind. She is very attached to her brother and is protective over him.
Kameron is the outgoing and extraverted one of the pair. He loves drawing, soccer and watching YouTube videos.
This brother and sister pair share a strong bond. The siblings have a history of abuse/trauma. Kelsi and Kameron need to be placed in a home together. More information is available from their agency for serious inquiries. It is important for Kelsi and Kameron to join a family with a calm and even-tempered father figure, and it is best if there are no younger or vulnerable children in the home. Kelsi and Kameron dream of an adoptive family who will love and protect them for the rest of their lives!
The second featured ‘Find Me Friday’ sibling set is: Lizzie & Luna! Lizzie was born in 2008 and Luna was born in 2011. They live in a Latin American country and are waiting for their forever family to find them. They are eligible to be adopted by single moms! They were listed in August 2019.
PD: Luna (l) and Lizzie (r) sit next to each other, smiling, illuminated by the window behind them. Luna wears a white t-shirt w/ overalls & her hair in 2 curly pigtails w/ pink bows. Lizzie wears a gray t-shirt that says ‘girl power’ w/ her long hair in 2 high braids. Luna has a deep complexion, whereas Lizzie’s is a medium tone; both have beautiful brown hair & eyes.
Lizzie & Luna’s Medical Histories
Lizzie and Luna are reportedly both in overall good physical health. Both girls struggle with behavior issues, and their foster mother is working with them to address these problems.
Lizzie & Luna’s Education
Due to their previous unstable life environment, Lizzie and Luna are behind in school. However, it is reported that since being enrolled in school, they are showing progress!
Other Information About Lizzie & Luna
Lizzie and Luna are two sisters who have been in and out of care since they were little. The girls have a history of abuse/trauma, and an ideal family should be understanding of older child adoption and accepting of the unknowns in their life. An adoptive family should have ready access to the education, medical, and behavioral resources they potentially will require in order to reach their full life potential. More information is available from their agency for serious inquiries.
Lizzie, the elder sister, and is described as shy and reserved. She enjoys dancing and watching cartoons. When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, she says “to be a veterinarian and take care of animals”.
