Updated January 2020:

Unfortunately, Chessa and Andrea both aged out before families were found for them 😦

Adalia still waits, but is running out of time!

In this series, each Friday, I want to share a different child with you who is available for adoption and listed through the adoption advocacy website Reece’s Rainbow. All the kids who are listed on RR from Sarah’s Covenant Homes, India, the focus of my previous posts, have been posted about, so now I am focusing on a few kids or a sibling group listed on the site each Friday going forward. When more SCH kids are listed, I’ll continue to feature them!

Please note that the names used on RR are usually not the childrens’ real names, and their real names will only be shared with seriously interested families in order to protect their identity.

Today’s first featured ‘Find Me Friday’ kid is: Adalia! She was born in 2006, lives in an Asian country, and is waiting for her family to find her. She is eligible to be adopted by single moms! Adalia is at risk of aging out! She must be adopted by her 14th birthday, or she will be un-adoptable internationally!

I am eligible for a $15,000 Older Child Grant! For more information, email childinquiry@reecesrainbow.org.

She also has a $3,000 grant with her current agency.

Adalia’s Medical History

Adalia was born with Down Syndrome. She is severely underweight, weighing only 44 pounds. Adalia receives some simple therapy in the orphanage.

Adalia’s Education

Teachers at Adalia’s orphanage work with her as well as therapy staff.

Other Information About Adalia

Agency staff met Adalia in 2011, and still… she waits. She is 12 years old and is in desperate need of a family. Adalia is able to crawl and can stand with support. Her caregivers say she refuses solid food, so she only eats food that is very watered down.

Her favorite toy is a rocking horse. There is video of her crawling over and climbing up to rock for a while. The nannies note she does not interact with those around her and does not follow directions. What Adalia needs most is to receive the one-on-one attention that a family could provide and the unconditional love of her very own mom and dad.

The second featured ‘Find Me Friday’ kid is: Chessa! She was born in November 2005, lives in an Asian country, and is waiting for her family to find her. She is eligible to be adopted by single moms! Chessa is at risk of aging out! She must be adopted by her 14th birthday – she is 13 years old now and has less than a year to be adopted internationally! She has been listed since August 2016.
