In this series, each Friday, I want to share a different child with you who is available for adoption and listed through the adoption advocacy website Reece’s Rainbow. All the kids who are listed on RR from Sarah’s Covenant Homes, India, the focus of my previous posts, have been posted about, so now I am focusing on a few kids or a sibling group listed on the site each Friday going forward. When more SCH kids are listed, I’ll continue to feature them!

Please note that the names used on RR are usually not the childrens’ real names, and their real names will only be shared with seriously interested families in order to protect their identity.

Today’s first featured ‘Find Me Friday’ kid is: Giada! Let’s find her family! She was born in 2007, lives in an unspecified country (probably in Eastern Europe), and is waiting for her family to find her. She is eligible to be adopted by single moms, older parents, and large families! She’s been listed since February 2018.

I am eligible for an Older Child Grant! Grant funding is dependent on a completed application and available funds. For more information, visit: Other Angels Older Child Grant

Giada’s Medical History

Giada has epilepsy in the form of grand mal seizures (with small seizures (petit mal) or without them), unspecified type, for which she is on medication. She has also been diagnosed with a congenital malformation syndrome which predominantly affects her facial appearance and a possible genetic syndrome. It is stated that this could be either a chromosomopathy (a chromosomal anomaly) or a monogenic syndrome (a disorder caused by the mutation of a single gene). She may also have some psychological and behavioral disorders related to her past trauma. Giada is physically well-developed for her age, with mild neuropsychological developmental delay. Her epilepsy (petit mal seizures) is well managed with medication.

Significant family history is known about Giada’s parents; her biological mother has a developmental delay, epilepsy in the form of grand mal seizures (she had Depakine during pregnancy), and cerebrovascular disease; and her biological father had a developmental delay and abused alcohol.

Giada’s Education

Giada attends a public school and is doing very well. Her dream is to become a teacher one day. Giada is not shy, able to communicate easily, and maintains dialogue with her classmates and adults. She can read and write. She is able to cooperate with other children from her class. Giada loves to draw and color, as well as to solve puzzles.

Other Information About Giada

Giada has well-developed fine and gross motor skills. She loves to paint, play sports, and has a well-developed imagination. She has good hygiene habits. Giada is a sociable, outgoing girl. She interacts and looks for contact with peers and adults. She prefers to play with her peers or older children. She loves to play with children younger than her, so she can take care of them. She cooperates in games. Giada knows what adoption means and dreams about being adopted and having a forever family of her own. Because Reece’s Rainbow only has her file for a short time, donations will not be accepted until a family is found for her.

More information is available from the agency for interested parents.
