105 in 105, day 76: Levi!

PD: A girl stands against a white wall, wearing a traditional Indian sari that is hot pink, blue, & gold w/ paisley accents & sparkly glitter. Her hands are at her sides, wearing blue bangles.

Update 2017: *Levi is fully sponsored! He lives at Victory Home with many foster brothers, and takes a vocational class where he completes various projects for sale. For resources to sponsor another child, read the bottom of this post.

Find a list of all *Levi’s foster brothers who need additional sponsorship funds here!

*Levi’s smile makes him look so dapper! He’s not one of the cuddly babies, but he’s still an amazing individual! Levi is 20, has autism, and has held a job with a water company in the past. He was the first person from SCH to hold a job!

That’s quite an accomplishment, and has provided him with important, life-long skills. The little ones look up to *Levi and he’s a father figure to them. *Levi loves to help out, and is always helping someone! He has an eager, friendly, and helpful personality, yet also emanates an aura of calm wherever he goes. When a new volunteer group came to distribute new shirts to the children, *Levi was the first to receive his, and spent a long time making sure each and every child had the right-sized shirt, too!

Sponsorship funds go toward *Levi’s everyday living and care expenses. He’s well past ‘adoptable’ age, so it’s likely he’ll live at SCH for the rest of his life – help make sure his needs are taken care of by considering a monthly donation.

Can’t wait to see where *Levi’s talents take him!

From his sponsorship page:

Spread the word, sponsor a child (or young adult!).

An important part of SCH’s work is YOU! SCH relies on donations to keep running. Donation opportunities include monthly child sponsors at any cost per month, from as low as $25/month. Sponsorship usually costs between $300 and $500 per child, depending on complexity of needs and which city they live in (Ongole or Hyderabad).

You can sponsor any child who needs additional funding at SCH by using the resources found here. Use these resources to get involved in other ways, such as becoming an advocate or volunteering. You can also become a medical sponsor (ideal for large groups or organizations who wish to support SCH) and donate toward monthly emergency medical expenses; or an educational sponsor and donate toward a specific on-site school. Learn about other ways to give charitably to SCH here, and check back often for additional opportunities.

*A note about names: SCH uses online nicknames for the children in order to protect their identity, per Indian governmental guidelines which state that children in care may not have identifying photos of them on the internet, as well as no identifying information such as birth name, place of origin, etc.

You can also send gifts via Amazon India, make a one-time, general donation, pray if that is your calling, or volunteer at home or in India yourself by using these resources!
