105 in 105, day 65: Monica!

Update 2017: Monica lives at Faith Home Purple with 8 fosters sisters. Monica now walks (and runs) without assistance! She is full of energy and is always in motion.

Meet full-of-energy, pint-sized *Monica! *Monica is an adorable toddler. She loves fresh air, being outside, and enjoying the sun. She’s definitely just as cute, but don’t confuse her with Miss *Jamila (they look a lot alike)! At just 3 years old, she has a personality all her own. She also loves to dance! Maybe she will be a famous dancer one day. *Monica has a heart condition and microcephaly, neither of which seem to slow her down. She can stand on her own and walk with the support of hands or a walker, as well as crawl. *Monica may be little, but she has a big personality full of energy. What a special little girl.

Sponsorship funds will go to healthy food and supplements, clean water to drink, ayahs and caregivers around the clock, medical care and physical therapy, and so much more. We don’t know where *Monica will go in her life, but she will live her childhood knowing that there are people who love and care for her and attend to her needs. Are you one of *Monica’s sponsors?

From her sponsorship page:

Birth Date: March 2009

Other Details About Me: I have Cerebral Palsy, an Intellectual Disability, and a heart problem. I am a pint-sized bundle of energy and enthusiasm.

Spread the word, sponsor a child!

An important part of SCH’s work is YOU! SCH relies on donations to keep running. Donation opportunities include child sponsors at any cost per month, from as low as $10/month. Sponsorship usually costs between $300 and $500 per child, depending on complexity of needs and which city they live in (Ongole or Hyderabad).

You can sponsor any child who needs additional funding at SCH by using the resources found here. Use these resources to get involved in other ways, such as becoming an advocate or volunteering. You can also become a medical sponsor (ideal for large groups or organizations who wish to support SCH) and donate toward monthly emergency medical expenses; or an educational sponsor and donate toward a specific on-site school. Learn about other ways to give charitably to SCH here, and check back often for additional opportunities.

*A note about names: SCH uses online nicknames for the children in order to protect their identity, per Indian governmental guidelines which state that children in care may not have identifying photos of them on the internet, as well as no identifying information such as birth name, place of origin, etc.

You can also send gifts via Amazon India, make a one-time, general donation, pray if that is your calling, or volunteer at home or in India yourself by using these resources!
