105 in 105, day 51: *Jason!

PD: A girl stands against a white wall, wearing a traditional Indian sari that is hot pink, blue, & gold w/ paisley accents & sparkly glitter. Her hands are at her sides, wearing blue bangles.

Update 2018:

*Jason needs $275/month more to be fully sponsored. Sign up to sponsor him here! Sponsors receive quarterly updates (4x/year!) about the child(ren) they sponsor.

From his sponsorship page:

*Jason is a sweet, outgoing, hospitable and helpful young man (with an impressive mustache, if I do say so myself!). He has a servants’ heart and loves to help around the house without prompting. He also makes sure the younger boys in the home stay in line. *Jason is very friendly, strikes up conversations with strangers, and always greets and welcomes visitors into his home. He is also very curious and is drawn to technology. He participates in vocational classes and has even made his own jewelry designs!

Update 2017:

*Jason just recently moved into Truth Home, SCH’s newest home. He attends mainstream private school. *Jason is growing up to be mature and handsome! He is even growing a very nice mustache. 🙂 He loves to learn about electronics and is described as curious, rowdy, confident,  and brave.

Original post:

Today’s child of the day is *Jason!

He’s 13 years old and affected by hearing loss, for which he has received hearing aids. *Jason is described as easy going, not quick to be discouraged, and such a tender young man. *Jason attends mainstream private school and was in the Special Olympics last year!

Though it is sometimes difficult to make sure his hearing aids are properly functioning and benefiting him, it is better than the level of care he was receiving at the government orphanage – which was nothing at all. *Jason has a very sweet and tender personality, and a heart-warming smile. He does well in school and always seems to have a smile on his face.

Help *Jason succeed by donating monthly toward his sponsorship fund!

Are you one of *Jason’s sponsors? Sponsorship goes toward all the good things that have been frequently detailed in this blog.

Spread the word, sponsor a child.

An important part of SCH’s work is YOU! SCH relies on donations to keep running. Donation opportunities include child sponsors at any cost per month, from as low as $25/month. Sponsorship usually costs between $300 and $500 per child, depending on complexity of needs and in which city they live (Ongole or Hyderabad).

You can sponsor any child who needs additional funding at SCH by using the resources found here. Use these resources to get involved in other ways, such as becoming an advocate or volunteering. You can also become a medical sponsor (ideal for large groups or organizations who wish to support SCH) and donate toward monthly emergency medical expenses; or an educational sponsor and donate toward a specific on-site school. Learn about other ways to give charitably to SCH here, and check back often for additional opportunities. You can send gifts via Amazon India, make a one-time, general donation, pray if that is your calling, or volunteer at home or in India yourself.

*A note about names: SCH uses online nicknames for the children in order to protect their identity, per Indian government guidelines which state that children in care may not have identifying photos of them on the internet, as well as no identifying information such as birth name, place of origin, etc.

PD: the SCH logo – black text reads ‘sch’; red text below reads ‘sarah’s covenant homes’; heart-shaped flowers bloom from the name.
