Unfortunately, Rajani, known as *Winnie online, passed away tragically in April due to complications with aspiration pneumonia, which was being managed at home. She is loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She had a gentle smile and quiet nature that permeated and transcended. That light will continue on.
*Winnie recently transitioned into Anchor home alongside 3 other girls from Faith Home, after Anchor experienced multiple adoptions!
From her sponsorship page:
*Winnie is a little sweetheart with a charming smile and is generally quiet and reserved, but has the most adorable laugh when tickled.
*Winnie lives at Faith Home with 7 beautiful, unique foster sisters. She is growing into such a beautiful preteen! *Winnie was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder. She uses a custom wheelchair to get around, and it helps keep her positioned correctly when sitting. Nowadays, you can find *Winnie constantly smiling.
Oh my gosh, today’s child of the day, *Winnie, could melt your heart with her soulful eyes!
Her rare smiles are said to brighten anyone’s day. *Winnie is three years old and was transferred to SCH last September (2011). When you look at *Winnie, you can’t see an intellectual disability. You see a beautiful child who deserves as much love, care, and attention as the next child.
Sponsoring a child can help them thrive!
*Winnie is described as sweet and reserved. We all know how that can turn into joy and happiness over time, the longer a child is at SCH in a safe, comfortable environment where their needs are being met. *Winnie gets stronger every day, thanks to you and your sponsorship!

Are you unable to donate financially to SCH’s cause? Help by spreading the word to help get all the children and young adults sponsored!
Spread the word, sponsor a child.
An important part of SCH’s work is YOU! SCH relies on donations to keep running. Donation opportunities include child sponsors at any cost per month, from as low as $25/month. Sponsorship usually costs between $300 and $500 per child, depending on complexity of needs and in which city they live (Ongole or Hyderabad).
You can sponsor any child who needs additional funding at SCH by using the resources found here. Use these resources to get involved in other ways, such as becoming an advocate or volunteering. You can also become a medical sponsor (ideal for large groups or organizations who wish to support SCH) and donate toward monthly emergency medical expenses; or an educational sponsor and donate toward a specific on-site school. Learn about other ways to give charitably to SCH here, and check back often for additional opportunities. You can send gifts via Amazon India, make a one-time, general donation, pray if that is your calling, or volunteer at home or in India yourself.
*A note about names: SCH uses online nicknames for the children in order to protect their identity, per Indian government guidelines which state that children in care may not have identifying photos of them on the internet, as well as no identifying information such as birth name, place of origin, etc.
